Utica, NY (9-5-13) – The Utica College women's tennis team prepares for its home opener Saturday and three matches in three days at the friendly confines of the Utica College Tennis Courts … UC welcomes Stevens Institute of Technology for an E8 battle before hosting Nazareth College on Sunday followed by Oswego State on Monday afternoon … Saturday's match is set for 12 p.m. while Sunday's has a 1 p.m. start and Monday's is scheduled for 4 p.m.

Pioneers Look for First-Win

After dropping back-to-back matches on the road last weekend against Ithaca and Houghton College's, Utica looks to get back on track with three consecutive sets on its home court … The Pioneers dropped its season and conference opener to Ithaca 9-0 on Friday in Ithaca, NY before losing to Houghton College on Saturday, 8-1.

The Opponents

Stevens is currently 1-0 overall and 1-0 in E8 play after defeating Nazareth College 5-4 at home … The Ducks wrapped up last year's campaign 8-7 overall including a 5-2 mark in the league play … Naz, currently 0-1 in each bracket after losing to Stevens, finished last season with an even 8-8 mark overall however racked up a 6-1 mark in the Empire 8 … Oswego State remains winless this season at 0-2 and 0-1 in SUNYAC play and compiled a 3-14 record in 2012-13.

Following the three match home stand, Utica returns to action Saturday Sept 14 as they hit the road to face Elmira College for an Empire 8 match scheduled for 1 p.m.
