Utica, NY (9-8-13) – The Utica College women's tennis lost its fourth straight match Sunday to Empire 8 Conference rival Nazareth College, 8-1, at the Utica College Tennis Courts. Freshman
Erin Burchill (Franklin Lakes, NJ/Indian Hills) led UC winning her first collegiate match as a Pioneer.
Burchill defeated Naz's No. 2 by scores of 7-5 and 6-1 in the second frame of singles competition. The Golden Flyers shut out the rest of UC's lineup without allowing one point.
The Pioneers hit the road Saturday as they head to Elmira College for an E8 battle against the Soaring Eagles. The match is set for 4 p.m.
