STRONG DEFENSE: Sophomore Patrick Claffey (Burlington, CT/Lewis Mills) has proved to be the Pioneers best defender … Claffey has started and played in all 14 games this season … He's helped UC to three shutouts and a goal against average of 1.42 … Claffey is second on the team for most minutes played with 1324.

TURNING IT ON: Connor Reagan (Sanbornton, NH/Bridgton ) has registered a shot in every game but five … Reagan has totaled seven shots in the past two games against Ithaca (10/11/14) and Nazareth (10/19/14) … He ranks third on the team with most shots (19) taken and is bound to find the net soon.

GOALIE: David Abdou (Whitesboro, NY/Whitesboro) has registered 76 saves and three shutouts this season … Abdou has a save percentage of .784 that ranks him third in the Empire 8 … He also ranks fourth in the Empire 8 with 5.43 saves per game.

SCOUTING THE KANGAROOS: SUNY Canton is 9-5-1 on the season and they are 6-1 at home … Nick Escalante team leading 37 points is tied for eighth in the United States Collegiate Athletic Association; Escalante has 14 goals and nine assists … Canton has thirteen different players with at least one point on the season.

LAST TIME AGAINST SUNY CANTON: The Pioneers shutout the Kangaroos (10/6/10) 5-0 … UC was led by freshman Jonathon Peterson (Bedford, NH/New Hampton) who had two goals … Alec Choleva, Chris Ferullo, and Alex Sheridan (East Islip, NY/St. John the Baptist) all chipped in with a goal … The Pioneer's defense allowed only three shots on the day and goalie Andrew Boniche had to save one shot.
