Utica, NY (12/1/14)- The Utica College women's hockey team returns to action Tuesday as it travels to nearby Clinton, NY to take on local rival, Hamilton College.  Game time is scheduled for 7 p.m.
 
LAST TIME OUT: The Pioneers improved to 3-2 on the season as they downed host Williams College 4-1 in non-conference action on Saturday… Junior Morgan Reed (Fort Myers, FL/Cushing Academy) had two goals, while sophomore Gabrielle Schnepp (Northville, MI/Belle Tire) had one goal and freshman Carlie Smith (Grimsby, Ontario/St. Catharine's Chaos) netted her first collegiate goal, which proved to be the game-winner… Veronique Lortie (Chambly, Quebec/Berkshire School), Nicole Schwartz (Danville, CA/San Jose Sharks), Janessa Haasbeek (Grand Forks, ND/Canadian International Hockey Academy), and Samantha Pucci (Pearl River, NY/Connecticut Polar Bears) each registered one assist… Senior Marissa McNamara (Camillus, NY/Lysander Lightning) made 29 saves in her second start of the season. 
 
LEADING THE WAY: Junior Morgan Reed (Fort Myers, FL/Cushing Academy) leads the team with five goals and seven points… She has collected five points in the last two games… Reed is currently tied for second nationally with 1.00 goals per game and she is also 11th in the country with 1.40 points per game. 
 
HELPING OUT: Nine different players have registered at least one goal this season… Senior Nicole Schwartz (Danville, CA/San Jose Sharks) is second on the squad with six points, on two goals and four assists… Mackenzie Roy (Clinton, NY/Clinton) has netted three goals, while Gabrielle Schnepp (Northville, MI/Belle Tire) and Louise Steele-Norton (Avondale, PA/Millbrook School) each have two goals.
 
SCOUTING HAMILTON: The Continentals are still looking for their first win of the season as they are 0-4-1 (0-3-1 NESCAC) so far… They are coming off a 2-1 loss at Oswego last Tuesday… Katie Parkman leads the team with three points (two goals, one assist).
 
AGAINST THE CONTINENTALS: Utica is 10-8-2 all-time against Hamilton… Last year, Utica overcame a 2-0 deficit to down the Continentals 3-2 in overtime in their only meeting last year… Louise Steele-Norton (Avondale, PA/Millbrook School) had one goal and Schnepp scored the game-winner just 44 seconds into overtime to lift UC… Emily Coope (Phoenix, AZ/Colorado Tigers) and Kelsey Dowdall (Smiths Falls, ONT/Nepean) each collected one assist. 
 
LOOKING AHEAD: Utica returns to action this weekend as it takes on ECAC West foe, SUNY Cortland in a home-and-home series… The Pioneers will travel to Cortland on Saturday for a 2 p.m. face off, before both teams return to Utica on Sunday for a 3 p.m. tilt.
