UC Women's Basketball Set to Host Faculty Appreciation Night Wednesday

UTICA, NY -- The Utica College women's basketball team will honor faculty members during its game against Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts on Wednesday evening. Faculty Appreciation Night is set to begin at 6 p.m. at the Harold T. Clark Athletic Center gymnasium.

SALUTE TO FACULTY: Each student-athlete on the UC women's basketball team has a chance to nominate one professor to be honored at halftime for their contributions to the student-athlete experience ... The professors will gather on the court at halftime and their names will be announced, alongside a brief paragraph about why the student-athlete submitted the nomination.

LAST TIME OUT: The Pioneers snapped a two game win steak as they fell to cross-town rival Hamilton College, 70-56….Christy Traglia (Mohawk, NY/Mohawk) netted a team-high 18 points to go along with three steels…UC evened their overall record at 3-3 on the seson.
 
ALL-TIME VS MCLA: This marks the second straight year that the Pioneers will be taking on the MCLA Trail Blazers…Last time these two met, UC was able to jump out to a 19-9 lead in the first ten minutes of play, and maintained the lead for the rest of the game…Two Pioneers scored in double digits, including Bridget Greenwald (Wayne, NJ/Wayne Hills) (14 points,14 rebounds) and Mary Miceli (New Rochelle, NY/New Rochelle) (13 points, four assists, three steals) …The Pioneers were able to secure the win, 68-49.
 
IN THE RECORD BOOKS: Junior Mary Miceli (New Rochelle, NY/New Rochelle) has totaled 682 career points… She has also racked up 93 career 3-pointers made, ranking her sixth in program history … She needs seven more to become one of only six players in program history to have at least 100 career 3-pointers… Senior Bridget Greenwald (Wayne, NJ/Wayne Hills) is currently seventh all-time at UC with 640 career rebounds… She needs just 23 boards to overtake Meghan Fiore for sixth on the College's all-time list. 
 
DOUBLE-DOUBLE: Senior Bridget Greenwald (Wayne, NJ/Wayne Hills) is averaging 12.0 points and 10.7 rebounds per game…Greenwald sits third in the Empire 8 in the rebounding category.
 
TRAGLIA COMING IN HOT: Senior guard Christy Traglia (Mohawk, NY/Mohawk) is coming off an 18 point effort against Hamilton…She is tied with teammate Bridget Greenwald (Wayne, NJ/Wayne Hills) averaging 12.0 points per game.
 
MICELI HELPING OUT: Mary Miceli (New Rochelle, NY/New Rochelle) holds the third highest average on the team with 11.3 points per game…She has drained eight shots from behind the arc, which leads the team.
 
SCOUTING MCLA: The Trail Blazers head into the contest riding the highs of a two game win streak, with a 3-1 overall record this season…Kayla Hotaling and Courtney McLaughlin lead the team in scoring, with Hotaling averaging 14.8 points per game and McLaughlin averaging 13.0.
 
LOOKING AHEAD: UC will travel to Annandale-on-Hudson to take on Bard College on Saturday, December 6. Tip off is set for 2 p.m.
