Box Score Ithaca, NY (2-15-14)- The Utica College women's basketball team fell to Empire 8 front runner, Ithaca College 64-53 Saturday night in E8 action . Sophomore Mary Miceli (New Rochelle, NY/New Rochelle) led the way for UC with a game-high 16 points, including shooting 3-for-7 from behind the arc.

Utica jumped out to a 6-0 lead in the first 2:02 of the game, but that was the only lead the Pioneers would hold, as Ithaca cruised to its 20th win of the season. Samantha Stayer (Allegany, NY/Allegany-Limestone) and Bridget Greenwald (Wayne, NJ/Wayne Hills) led the Pioneers with eight rebounds apiece. Stayer and freshman Calypso Carty (Pipersville, PA/Central Bucks West) combined for 20 points, while Christy Traglia (Mohawk, NY/Mohawk), Marissa Kahane (Sayville, NY/Sayville), and Adriana Surprenant (Utica, NY/New York Mills) also got on the board for UC.

Four players scored in the double digits for Ithaca to help the Bombers improve to 20-4 on the year and 12-1 in the Empire 8. With the loss, Utica falls to 6-17 (1-12 Empire 8) on the year. The Pioneers return to action next weekend for their season finale. UC hosts Nazareth Friday at 8 p.m. before taking on Houghton College Saturday at 5 p.m. Both games will be at the Clark Athletic Center.
