Trent Jacobs (Akwesasne/Brewster Academy) each had two goals to lead the Pioneers… Juniors
Tom Byrne (Lancaster, NY/Lancaster) and
Zack Stevenson (Elbridge, NY/Jordan-Elbridge) scooped up five groundballs each… Junior goalie
Andrew DiOrio (Greenlawn, NY/CW Post) had 16 saves and he now has made at least 11 saves in six of his last seven starts … UC is 6-7 overall and 2-3 in the conference.
Senior Day: On Saturday, the Pioneers will honor 13 seniors who will be playing in their final home game at Charles A. Gaetano Stadium … The senior class is comprised of

Duffy has played in 60 games while starting 44 of them, was named to the Empire 8 Second Team All-Conference in 2013 and has scooped up 131 groundballs in four years… Craig has played in 50 games, while starting 29 of them, and has 40 points (19 goals, 21 assists) in his four years… Schoen has played in 57 games and has tallied 101 points (33 goals, 68 assists).
Scooping Them Up: Stevenson has picked up 70 groundballs this season… He only needs nine more to pass Brian Kaley and tie Ken Fischmann for ninth place in the school's single-season record book … Kaley scooped up 78 groundballs, while Fischmann added 79 for the Pioneers during the 2001 season… Stevenson is ranked sixth in the conference in groundballs per game averaging 5.38.
Records Are Meant to be Broken: Byrne has 29 caused turnovers in 13 games so far this season… He is now tied for eighth with his current teammate, junior
Sean Flanagan (Whitesboro, NY/Whitesboro), on the College's single-season list … Flanagan had 29 caused turnovers during the 2013 season… Byrne needs three more to pass Matthew Crouse for sixth all-time… Crouse had 31 caused turnovers during the 2011 season.
As a Team: As a team, the Pioneers are ranked third in the conference in shots percentage (.224) and fourth in shots per game (39.23).
Scoring Leaders: Junior transfer
Christian Reiller (Salamanca, NY/Genesee CC) currently leads UC with 32 points (21 goals, 11 assists) … Reiller has at least one point in every game this season … Reiller and Jacobs are tied for the team lead with 21 goals each … Senior
Scott Baron (Flemington, NJ/Cushing Academy) has five goals in his last four outings and he currently ranks fourth on the team with 19 points (13 goals, six assists) … 13 goals this season is a new career-high for Baron.
Scouting Elmira: The Soaring Eagles are coming off an 18-9 loss at home to conference opponent St. John Fisher… They are 2-9 overall and 1-4 in the conference… Their only conference win was on the road to Hartwick College winning in overtime, 9-8… Senior Brady Richards leads the Soaring Eagles with 36 points (29 goals, seven assists)… He is ranked third in the conference in goals per game (2.58) and 10
th in points per game (3.17)… In the conference, the team is ranked fourth in assists per game (6.75).
Last Ten Years: In the last ten years, UC is 6-4 against Elmira… The last time that UC lost to the Eagles was on their home turf on April 23, 2011 by the final score of 11-7.
