Utica, NY (4-28-14) – The Utica College baseball team could not fend off visiting Empire 8 rival Stevens Institute of Technology as it lost another late, game one lead.  UC fell 9-2 in nine innings in the first game before dropping game two, 7-1, as the Ducks completed the four-game, two-day sweep.  Junior pitcher
Steve Szatko
(Clinton, NY/Clinton)
guided the Pioneers at the dish as each recorded three hits on the day.

On the season, Utica has dropped nine games by three runs or less including five one run defeats and needs just three victories to tie the most wins in a season over the last eight  years.  The Pioneers currently have four games remaining with twin bills against Keuka (Tuesday) and St. John Fisher, at home, on Thursday May 8th.
