Box Score 2 Rochester, NY (4-5-14) – The Utica College men's baseball was swept Sunday afternoon by St. John Fisher College, 6-0 and 3-0, in the teams Empire 8 Conference opener at the Dugan Yard. Sunday's games were originally scheduled to be played in Utica however were moved to Fisher due to field conditions.
The Pioneers fall to 3- 7 overall including a 0-2 record to start Empire 8 play. The Cardinals continue their hot streak and have now won 13 straight moving to 15-1 on the season including a 2-0 record in the league. The teams square off again on Monday in Utica, NY. First pitch of the game one doubleheader is set for 3 p.m. at the Utica College Baseball Field.

truck out the side after allowing the double and another batter in the second while Fisher hurler senior Justin D'Amato struck five Pioneers including three straight in the second.The Cardinals edged a run in the top of the third to take the games' first lead, 1-0, with the help off a few Utica mishaps. Sophomore Cody Wiktorski was hit by a pitch then advanced to second on a wild pitch and later scored following a sacrifice bunt and throwing error by UC.
Game one remained quiet through five full innings featuring just one run and five hits. The senior hurlers, Fisher's D'Amato and UC's Choleva, had dual going with a combined 17 K's over the first 30 outs of the contest. Benjamin Hobaica (Clinton, NY/Clinton) ripped a single through the left side. Junior
Ryan Watson (Deerfield, NY/Whitesboro) singled later in the frame but UC could not muster a score.
Fisher opened it up in the sixth inning with five runs on six hits and the aid of two costly Utica errors en route to the game one victory. D'Amato moves to 5-4 on the season as he also threw six innings allowing no runs on just four hits. He fanned an impressive 10 Pioneers while walking one.
Choleva tossed six full innings while fanning nine Cardinals however allowed six runs (five earned) on eight hits and three wild pitches. He falls to 1-2 on the season.
St. John Fisher 3, Utica 0 – Game Two FinalThe second game started quiet as well and was scoreless after three innings of play with only three hits from Fisher showing on the scoreboard. The Cardinals threatened in the top of the fourth with three straight singles to load the bases however came up empty as sophomore
Joshua Webb (Verona, NY/VVS) came up big striking out the side to get out of the jam.
The Cardinals scored one run in the fifth, one in sixth and another in the eighth to take a 3-0 advantage into the final two frames.
Fisher's Marc Iseneker tossed a two hit shutout for the Cardinals throwing seven innings and striking out nine as he moved his season record 4-3.
Webb took the loss for Utica in six innings of work allowing just two runs and fanning an impressive 12 Cardinals.

Adam Pexton (Whitesboro, NY/Whitesboro) broke up the no hitter in the bottom of the fourth while junior catcher
Thomas Dinnen (Cortlandt Manor, NY/Walter Panas ) singled in the eighth for UC's only two knocks of game two.
