Utica, NY (9/12/14) – The Utica College women's soccer team looks to remain unbeaten as the Pioneers host SUNY Potsdam Saturday afternoon at Charles A. Gaetano Stadium. The contest is scheduled to start at 4 p.m.

RIVALRY RENEWED: Since 2000 Utica and Potsdam have played a total of eight times; taking a brief pause from 2007 to 2011 … The Pioneers are 6-1-1 all-time against the Bears and have outscored Potsdam 19-6 … The last time the two teams met up was last year, which resulted in a 0-0 draw.
UNBEATEN: The Pioneers are 3-0-1 on the season … UC has outscored opponents 7-4 over the course of the four games and has played in two double overtime games.
FINDING HER STRIDE: Senior
Alana Fitzpatrick (Cheshire, CT/Holy Cross) scored her first goal against D'Youville College Wednesday night … Fitzpatrick now has three points on the season … She's looking to continue this streak as she takes on a Potsdam team that has let up five goals.
STANDOUT SENIOR: Senior defender
Maddisen Melley (Wappingers Falls, NY/Roy C. Ketcham) is off to a tremendous start to the season as as she has three goals, including 2 game-winners … In 35 career games for the Pioneers she has five goals.
SOLID DEFENSE: Junior goalie
Kelly Heimerle (North Babylon, NY/North Babylon) has proven to be irreplaceable for the Pioneers … Her .91 goals against average and .862 save percentage have helped lift her team to a 3-0-1 start … Her loan shutout came against Clarkson University by the score of 1-0.
FRESHMAN PHENOM: Keri Berkowitz (Racine, WI/Racine Saint Catherine's) came out of the gates firing as she has a team-leading five shots on goal and three assists … Her lone goal came against Keuka College, however she has tallied at least one point in each game so far.
SCOUTING POTSDAM: The Bears are 2-2-1 on the season … They have been shut out their last two games… Potsdam has a pair of players,Jaci Morr and Cree Karley, who have scored twice on the season … The Bears are still looking for their keeper with three different players getting a start in the net.
BACK IN ACTION: After Saturday's game, the Pioneers will travel to SUNY IT on Tuesday... Game time is set for 7:00 p.m.
