Utica, NY (9/15/14) – The Utica College women's soccer team takes on crosstown rival SUNY IT Tuesday night. The contest is scheduled to start at 7 p.m.

Krystine Alvear (Ossining, NY/Ossining) had a team-high two shots on goal.
HITTING THE ROAD: Tuesday's match is the first of a four-game road trip for Utica… The Pioneers do not return home until Saturday, Oct. 4 when they face St. John Fisher College… UC is 3-0 on the road so far this year.
LEADING THE WAY: Senior
Maddisen Melley (Wappingers Falls, NY/Roy C. Ketcham) continues to lead the team with three goals … She had a two goal outing against Keuka to go along with three shots … Melley also scored the lone goal in UC's 1-0 win against Clarkson University… She has two game-winning goals on the year.
BERKOWITZ BREAKING OUT: Freshman
Keri Berkowitz (Racine, WI/Racine Saint Catherine's) is the team leader with three assists … She had one in each of the first three games … Her lone goal came against Keuka.
HELPING OUT: Three other Pioneers have found the back of the net this season, including senior
Alana Fitzpatrick (Cheshire, CT/Holy Cross), freshman
Amanda Pawlikowski (Vernon, NY/Vernon Verona Sherrill), and sophomore
Ciara McIlvenney (Pleasant Valley, NY/Arlington).
CROSSTOWN RIVALS: Utica holds a 19-1 advantage over SUNYIT in the last 20 meetings… The Pioneers' lone loss was in 2001 when the Wildcats won 3-0 … During this incredible streak UC has outscored SUNYIT 70-12 and has shutout the Wildcats 11 times.
SCOUTING SUNYIT: The Wildcats are 2-3-1 on the season with a 13-0 blowout win against St. Elizabeth … Alexis Forgit and Kristina Strang of the Wildcats are tied on the team with four goals … McKenna Hungerford is the team leader in assists with two … SUNY IT has played in only one overtime game this year.
LAST TIME AGAINST SUNY IT: The Pioneers beat the Wildcats (9/18/13) 5-1 last year …
Jenna Hughes (Brookfield, NY/Brookfield) had a tremendous game as she had two goals and two assists …
Elizabeth Feigum (Milford, NJ/Delaware Valley Regional) also scored and Fitzpatrick chipped in with one assist.
BACK IN ACTION: After Tuesday's game the Pioneers will travel to Hoboken, NJ for their first Empire 8 contest of the season against Stevens Institute of Technology. The game is set for Saturday afternoon at 3 p.m.
