Last Time Out – UC Blanked by Elmira 

UC was shutout this past Saturday at home by Empire 8 rival Elmira College, 9-0.  The Pioneers dropped to 0-4 on the season including a 0-2 mark in Empire 8 play while the Soaring Eagles improved to 3-1 overall and moved their E8 record to 2-1. UC was guided by Doni Look (Bridgeport, NY/Chittenango) in singles play losing 6-4 and 6-0 while Lu Lu Zhang (Wenzhou, China /Newcomers) tallied two points in her solo match.

Scouting the Gators

Sage is currently 1-5 overall this season including a 0-4 mark on the road.  After winning their season-opener, 9-0, versus Bay Path University in Troy, NY, the Gators have fell upon hard times losing five-straight.  Sage comes into town having dropped its last four all away from home.

Back on the Courts
Utica returns to action this weekend with back-to-back matches in Rochester, NY against Empire 8 rivals St. John Fisher and Nazareth Colleges. The Pioneers will face Fisher on Saturday at the Mendon Racquet Club and before heading across town on Sunday to challenge Naz.  Both matches are set to start at 1 p.m.
