Box Score Stevens 3, Utica 1 - Empire 8 Conference Final 

Hoboken, NJ (September 20, 2014) – The Utica College women's soccer team dropped its Empire 8 Conference opener on the road, 3-1, at Stevens Institute of Technology Saturday afternoon.  Senior Alana Fitzpatrick (Cheshire, CT/Holy Cross) netted a late goal for UC, her third of the season, but it proved to be too late as the Ducks' early 3-0 advantage proved enough in the end.

UC's record moved to 4-2-1 overall and 0-1 in conference play, while the Ducks advanced to 4-3 overall and 1-0 in the E8. All three of the Stevens' goals came in the first half of play. 

UC goalie Kelly Heimerle (North Babylon, NY/North Babylon) put forth a valiant effort, stopping a career-high 14 shots in between the pipes for the Pioneers.

The Pioneers return to the pitch on Wednesday for game three of a four game road trip when they travel to Hartwick College to take on the Hawks in a pivotal E8 contest at 7 p.m.
