Melley has scored netted the game-winner for the Pioneers in each of the last two games
Box Score Potsdam, NY (9/5/14)- The Utica College women's soccer team extended its season-opening win streak to three games as it topped host Clarkson University, 1-0 Friday evening at Clarkson's Hantz Field.
Senior
Maddisen Melley (Wappingers Falls, NY/Roy C. Ketcham) scored the lone goal for Utica, off an assist from freshman
Keri Berkowitz (Racine, WI/Racine Saint Catherine's). In the 42nd minute, the Pioneers were awarded a corner kick. Berkowitz centered the ball and a header from Melley was able to find the back of the net. Melley has now scored three straight goals for UC and leads the team with six points.
Junior
Kelly Heimerle (North Babylon, NY/North Babylon) had a game-high seven saves, while her counterpart, Kim Kenline made two saves.
The Pioneers return to action Wednesday as they host D'Youville College for their 2014 home opener. Game time is scheduled for 7 p.m.
