Box Score Edgewater, NJ (September 6, 2014) – The Utica College women's tennis team dropped its season-opener, 9-0, Saturday against host and Empire 8 rival Stevens Institute of Technology.
Utica's
Doni Look (Bridgeport, NY/Chittenango) lost third singles 6-2, 6-1 to Jillian Morneau, while
Rose Zaloom (Utica, NY/T.R. Proctor) dropped her first singles match 6-0, 6-2 against Danielle Stewart of Stevens.
UC's Gabrielle Morreale lost 6-1, 6-0 to Lily Bruenjes of Stevens, as
Monica Johnson (Liverpool, NY/Liverpool) lost 6-0, 6-0 to Katrina Guide for the Pioneers. Utica's record moved to 0-1 overall and 0-1 in the E8, while Stevens remained unbeaten at 3-0.
The Pioneers return to the court Wednesday, Sept. 10
th for their home-opener as they welcome Wells College to the Utica College Tennis Courts. The match is set to begin at 4 p.m.
