UTICA, NY – The Utica College women's basketball team is set to open up Empire 8 Conference play this weekend against visiting St. John Fisher College (Friday, 6 p.m.) and Ithaca College (Saturday, 2 p.m.).
RADIO BROADCAST INFO: Both games will be broadcast on the radio locally at WTLB 99.1 FM/1310 AM (ESPN Radio) by play-by-play man Dave Peroni and color analyst Fred Miller … Live streaming audio can also be accessed on WTLB's website, www.espnur.com ... Mary Miceli (New Rochelle, NY/New Rochelle) leads the team and ranks 10th in the Empire 8 with an average of 11.8 points per contest …

Christy Traglia (Mohawk, NY/Mohawk) (10.3 ppg) round out the Pioneers' top scorers.
HITTING THE GLASS: Senior
Bridget Greenwald (Wayne, NJ/Wayne Hills) leads the Empire 8 with 95 total rebounds this season … Her average of 10.6 rebounds per game ranks 62nd in the country … She is one of just two players in the Empire 8 who is averaging a double-double.
DOMINANT FROM THE LINE: Junior
Mary Miceli (New Rochelle, NY/New Rochelle) leads the team and ranks second in the conference with a .780 free throw percentage after sinking 32-of-41 free throws… She also has a team-high 14 three-pointers on the season.
FAMILIAR FACE: Second year assistant coach
Meghan Soja will face her old team on Friday… Soja was a four-year letter winner at St. John Fisher where she racked up 817 points and 538 rebounds in 107 games… She also served as the Cardinals captain during her senior campaign.
SCOUTING FISHER: The Cardinals are 7-2 overall and they are coming off a 79-60 win over Medaille College on Tuesday… Fisher is led by senior Portia Velasco, who ranks third in the E8 with 16.9 points per game… UC fell in both meetings against the Cardinals last season.
SCOUTING ITHACA: The Bombers are 6-3 on the season and they received nine votes in the latest d3hoops.com national poll… They are coming off an 0-2 weekend at the San Juan Shootout after falling to Plattsburg State 76-66 in the opening game and dropping a 59-42 decision to Cabrini College (Pa.) in the second game… Ithaca is led by sophomore Ali Ricchiuti, who is averaging 11.8 points per game.
LOOKING AHEAD: Next up, the Pioneers will travel to Hoboken, NJ on Tuesday to face E8 foe Stevens Institute of Technology. Game time is scheduled for 6 p.m.
