UTICA, NY – The Utica College women's tennis team was defeated 9-0 by visiting Nazareth College in Empire 8 play at the UC Courts. The Pioneers won seven games in singles play and four in doubles play led by Lu Lu Zhang (Wenzhou, China /Newcomers) who had a hand in winning six games.

Utica dropped to 0-11 overall with a 0-7 Empire 8 Conference record while Nazareth improved to 7-2 overall with a 7-1 conference record. The Pioneers hit the road for their final match of the season on Sunday Oct 18th to take on The Sage Colleges.
 
Zhang won five games in singles play, and added another game when she partnered up with Gabriella Morreale (Utica, NY/T.R Proctor) in doubles competition play.  Anastasia Fitzpatrick (Parksville, NY/Liberty) won a game in singles play and added two more games when she teamed up with Shannon Fillmore in doubles play.
