Alfred, NY – The Utica College men's soccer team dropped a 3-0 decision in Empire 8 Conference action at Alfred University on Saturday afternoon. All three of the Saxon's goals came in the second half in a span of just 6:32 after the Pioneers went down a man from a red card late in the first half.
The first 50 minutes of the contest proved to be even as Alfred took a 10-8 shot advantage into the half.

rd minute when a through ball tipped off the head of a Pioneer defender and past UC goalie
Matthew Milograno (Marcy, NY/Whitesboro) to give the home team a 1-0 lead.
Miligrano finished the day with eight saves, while Alfred goalie Chris Gutierrez stopped five shots in the victory. Just 2:13 later James Piombino scored his fourth goal of the season on a penalty kick to give the Saxons a 2-0 advantage.
Alfred closed out the scoring on the day at 60:04 when Oumar Soumahoro netted his ninth goal of the season, assisted by Adam Taylor, to give the Saxons the 3-0 advantage.
Alfred improved to 9-2-2 overall and 3-1-1 in conference play.
UC (4-11, 1-4 Empire 8) returns home for two straight games on Tuesday night when it hosts SUNY Canton for the Pioneers final non-conference contest of the regular season. The game is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m.
