CLINTON, NY- Senior
Lora Allen (Dolgeville, NY/Dolgeville) became the first player in program history to amass 2,000 assists in her career as the Utica College volleyball team fell to host Hamilton College, 3-0, in non-conference action Monday evening. Allen finished the day with 18 assists and now has 2,013 in her three years at UC.
The Pioneers (5-24, 1-5 Empire 8) return to action Saturday as they wrap up conference play in an Empire 8 pod at Alfred University. UC will take on Nazareth College in the opening game (1:30 p.m.) and will wrap up the day against Alfred (4 p.m.).
Freshman
Hannah Voss (St. Louis, MO/Oakville) led the attack with seven kills, while
Nicole Herringshaw (Syracuse, NY/Cicero-North Syracuse),
Brandi Blaszak (Marcy, NY/Whitesboro), and
Laura Homer-Gunther (Sauquoit, NY/Sauquoit) had three kills each. Senior
Alexis Lyon (Prospect, NY/Holland Patent) had a team-best 15 digs, while Allen chipped in with 12 of her own. Homer-Gunther also led the team with three blocks.
