BUFFALO, NY – The Utica College men's basketball team won against Chatham University 76-65 Saturday on the second day of the Hilbert Tip-Off Tournament. Devin Wilkerson (Germany/Apo Armed Forces-Europe) added eight points and was 100% from beyond the arc (2-2), while Seamus McHugh (Latham, NY/Shaker) chipped in with six points giving him 18 points on the weekend.

The Pioneers dominated in the paint outscoring the Cougars 38-10 as well as getting 37 points from the bench to Chatham's 24 bench points.

Chatham struck first taking a 3-0 lead but after a free throw by Wilson and a jumper by McHugh UC tied it up. Utica took the lead when Carl Taylor (East Brunswick, NJ/East Brunswick) put in a second chance jumper and didn't trail again.

At 12:24 in the second half the Pioneers built the largest lead of the night at 17 points and didn't let the double-digit advantage slip as they won by 11.

UC had 13 players see action while nine of those players put points on the board. The team finished with a 43.3 field goal percentage while shooting 32 percent from downtown.
