UTICA, NY- The Utica College men's basketball team will be back in action on Tuesday night, as it hosts SUNY Canton at Harold T. Clark Gymnasium… Tip off is scheduled for 5 p.m.
 
LAST TIME OUT: The Pioneers had a come-from-behind win against SUNY Polytechnic last Tuesday… UC went on a 19-6 run in the last 4:05 of the game, as it pulled out a seven-point win by the score of 79-72… Senior Jawan Simmons (Syracuse, NY/Nottingham) finished with a double-double on 17 points and 12 rebounds… Classmate Robert Tutein (Nanuet, NY/Nanuet) also finished with 17 points, to go along with three rebounds, and two steals.
 
SENIOR LEADERSHIP: Utica's two seniors on the roster have been leading the way this season… Tutein is first on the squad and 12^th in the Empire 8 Conference in scoring with 15.6 points per game… He also ranks eighth in the conference with 2.6 three-pointers per game… Simmons is second on the team with 9.0 points per game… He leads the team and is 12^th in the conference with 6.6 rebounds per game.
 
FRESHMAN FOCUS: Five different Pioneer freshmen are averaging at least 3.3 points per game, with Seamus McHugh (Latham, NY/Shaker) leading all first years with 7.2 points per game, to go along with 1.8 rebounds and 0.6 assists… Freshman Jonathan Wilson (Rochester, NY/Greece Arcadia) is second among freshmen with 6.8 points per game, while also averaging 2.0 rebounds and 0.8 assists, while Devin Wilkerson (Germany/Apo Armed Forces-Europe) is right behind him with 6.5 points per game, chipping in 3.3 rebounds and 0.8 assists… Stephen Gall (Bronx, NY/Benjamin Banneker) is averaging 6.0 points per game, 2.8 rebounds, and 0.8 assists, and Andrew Druziak (Amsterdam, NY/Amsterdam ) is averaging 3.3 points per game, 1.0 rebound, and 0.8 assists.
 
SOPHOMORES STEPPING UP: Sophomores Carl Taylor (East Brunswick, NJ/East Brunswick) and Ivan Iton (Ossining, NY/Ossining) have been key contributors for the Pioneers this season, as they are third and fourth on the team in scoring, respectively… Taylor is averaging 8.0 points per game, 3.8 rebounds, and 2.6 assists… Iton is second on the team with 5.8 rebounds per game, and he is also averaging 7.2 points and 1.2 assists per game.
 
SCOUTING CANTON: The Kangaroos are off to a 3-0 start this season, with their last win coming on Sunday against D'Youville College by the score of 82-68… Sam Annorh has led the way in scoring for Canton with 14.0 points per game, while also averaging 4.7 rebounds and 4.3 assists… Romario Fletcher is second on the team in scoring with 10.7 points per game, and is leading the team with 6.3 rebounds per game… Kam Peterkin has been Canton's three-point threat this season, making 7 out of 15 three-pointers, and averaging 8.7 points per game.
 
RECENT MATCHUPS AGAINST CANTON: The Pioneers have matched up with Canton in each of the last three seasons, winning in 2012 by the score of 89-66, and in 2013 by the score of 103-86.
