UTICA, NY - The Utica College women's tennis team lost, 9-0, Friday afternoon to visiting non-conference rival Plattsburgh State at the Utica College Tennis Courts. The Pioneers were guided by
Lu Lu Zhang (Wenzhou, China /Newcomers) who tallied the team's only points of the afternoon in singles play. Zhang totaled 11 points in her singles match.
UC falls to 0-3 overall on the season and is right back on the courts Saturday as it hits the road for back-to-back Empire 8 contests. Utica will play Houghton on Saturday at the Kerr-Pegula Field House and then head to Elmira College on Sunday to face the Soaring Eagles at the Murray Athletic Center. Both matches are scheduled for 1 p.m.
The Cardinals snapped a three game losing streak and move their overall season mark to 2-3. Plattsburgh returns to action Saturday as it remain on the road to face Union College (1 p.m.).
