UTICA, NY - The Utica College women's tennis team lost Saturday to Empire 8 rival Houghton College, 8-1, at the Kerr-Pegula Field House.  Lu Lu Zhang (Wenzhou, China /Newcomers) won her singles match in four sets to lead the Pioneers. 

Anastasia Fitzpatrick (Parksville, NY/Liberty) battled in the third spot of singles winning six games however lost by scores of 6-1 and 7-5

UC drops to 0-4 overall on the season including a 0-2 mark in Empire 8 play.  The Pioneers head to Elmira College on Sunday to face the Soaring Eagles at the Murray Athletic Center. The match is scheduled for 1 p.m.

The Highlanders improve to 4-2 on the season including a 2-1 ledger in conference play and return to the courts Tuesday when they head to Alfred (4 p.m.).
