ELMIRA, NY- Freshman Jenna Mazza (Frankfort, NY/Sauquoit Valley) netted her team-leading fourth goal of the season, however it was not enough as the Utica College women's soccer team fell to host Elmira College, 3-1, in Empire 8 Conference action Saturday afternoon.
 
UC (2-5-2, 0-2 Empire 8) looks to rebound Sunday as it hosts cross town rival, Hamilton College.  Game time is scheduled for 1 p.m.
 
The Soaring Eagles scored twice in the first 12 minutes off goals from Jordyn Rousselle and Sara Kazerouni to take control.  Elmira added another tally in the second half as Rousselle netted her second of the game, before Mazza was able to break the shutout in the 66th minute. 
 
Junior Jamie Enders (Cazenovia, NY/Cazenovia) and sophomore Kimberly Beattie (Levitton, NY/Division Ave) combined for nine saves in net, while Gabe Carmona totaled nine saves for Elmira.  Mazza, Keri Berkowitz (Racine, WI/Racine Saint Catherine's), and Ciara McIlvenney (Pleasant Valley, NY/Arlington) led the Pioneers with two shots on goal each.
