Utica, NY – Utica College women's tennis wrapped up its season today at home against The Sage Colleges. Utica fell 6-3 as the season has now come to a close.
 
The Pioneers were able to win in two singles matches during the day. Sara Gribanoff (West Winfield, NY/Mount Markham) won her third singles match of the season as she defeated Shanessa Mendoza in second singles. Lulu Zhang (Wenzhou, China /Newcomers) was also able to come away with a win in her fifth singles match with set scores of 6-0 and 6-0.
 
During the doubles matchups Utica was able to come out victorious in one of the contests. Lulu Zhang (Wenzhou, China /Newcomers) and Gabriella Morreale (Utica, NY/T.R Proctor) were able to team up and defeat the Sage couple 9-7 in third doubles.
 
Lulu Zhang (Wenzhou, China /Newcomers) finished the season with a team best singles record of 9-3 on the season. She ended the year with a four-match win streak in singles play. She was able to secure wins in eight of her last nine singles matches. 
 
Utica ended the season with a 3-10 record overall and 1-7 conference record.
