Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Women's Soccer Falls on the Road at Hartwick

Utica, NY -- Utica College women's soccer lost 4-0 on the road as they played Empire 8 rival Hartwick College (7-4-3 overall, 1-2-2 conference). The Pioneers now sit at 2-12 overall this season and 1-5 in conference play. 

Hartwick scored two goals in the first half to take control of the game. The first goal was scored in the opening minute by Rachel Weir, as she finished with two goals on the day. Utica College was outshot in the first half 16-2. In the second half, Hartwick scored two more goals to make the final score 4-0. However, the Pioneers were able to outshoot their opponent 10-9 in the second half of the game. 

Sophomore Jenna Mazza (Frankfort, NY/Sauquoit Valley) took seven shots throughout the game and placed four of those shots on goal. Freshman goalkeeper Allison Wagner (Canandaigua, NY/Canandaigua Academy) recorded 11 saves on the day. This marks the eighth game so far this season in which Allison Wagner (Canandaigua, NY/Canandaigua Academy) was able to make double digit saves.

Women's soccer will be on the road again for their next game as they face Houghton College. This Empire 8 matchup is scheduled for October 22nd, starting at 1 p.m.
