Utica, NY – The Utica College women's tennis team lost 8-1 against visiting Plattsburgh in non-conference action Saturday.  Utica's Lulu Zhang (Wenzhou, China /Newcomers) picked up the Pioneers lone point of the afternoon as she defeated Jacqueline Ciriello 6-2, 6-1 in fifth singles. Zhang is now 7-3 overall this season at fifth singles and she also has a 4-6 record when partnering with Gabriella Morreale (Utica, NY/T.R Proctor) at third doubles.

Utica's Julianne Pieros (Alpha, NJ/Phillipsburg) lost 6-0, 6-3 at second singles, while Sara Gribanoff (West Winfield, NY/Mount Markham) lost 6-3, 6-1 at first singles. 

The Pioneers return to the court on Saturday when they travel to Alfred University for Empire 8 Conference action at 1 p.m.
