Utica, NY -- The Utica College field hockey team will host Elmira College on Saturday as they look to bounce back from a loss to Geneseo. Game time is scheduled for 1 p.m.

Senior Day: The Pioneers have two seniors that will be playing in their last home game Saturday,
Sara Hennessey (East Syracuse, NY/East Syracuse Minoa) and
Rachael Scaramuzzino (Utica, NY/Whitesboro).

Since transferring to Utica for her junior year,
Sara Hennessey (East Syracuse, NY/East Syracuse Minoa) has played in 24 games for the Pioneers. She is a two-sport athlete as she starts for both the field hockey team and the lacrosse team. She has recorded two defensive saves throughout her career as a Pioneer. The team has recorded 11 wins during her time her at Utica.

Rachael Scaramuzzino (Utica, NY/Whitesboro) has been on the Utica College roster for all four years of her college career, playing in a total of 36 games. In her career she has tallied seven goals, two assists, 16 points, and one game-winning goal. She has been on the team for a total of 46 wins. She was a member of the back-to-back Empire 8 Championship teams and made two consecutive NCAA Tournament appearances (2013, 2014).Â

Last Time Out: In their last game, the Pioneers lost to Geneseo 1-0 at home on Thursday. Junior goalkeeper
Samantha Whitehouse (Greenwich, NY/Greenwich) recorded six saves on the day. Junior
Jordan Noga (Marcy, NY/Whitesboro) recorded her seventh defensive save of the year, which earned her the school record for defensive saves in a single season.

Leading the Way: Rylee Meelan (Clinton, NY/Clinton) and
Rachael Scaramuzzino (Utica, NY/Whitesboro) are leading the offense this season. Meelan has tallied 11 points off of five goals and one assist. Scaramuzzino has five goals as well and is second on the team with 10 points.
Rebecca Kauffman (Mount Joy, PA/Linden Hall) has played well also, recording three goals and two assists on the season. Her eight points on the year is the third highest on the team.

In the Net: Samantha Whitehouse (Greenwich, NY/Greenwich) now has 150 saves for the Pioneers this season, placing her second on the College's all-time single-season record list. With two games remaining, Whitehouse has a chance to break Amanda McDonnell's 2008 record of 181 saves. She is currently second in the Empire 8 in total saves this season.

Scouting Elmira: The Soaring Eagles are on a five game losing streak and have yet to win an Empire 8 conference game this season. They rank last in the conference, staring at a 2-11 overall record and a 0-6 record in conference. Elmira Goalie Julie Hockenberg is right behind
Samantha Whitehouse (Greenwich, NY/Greenwich) in the conference standings with 121 saves on the year.

Against Elmira: Utica has won seven of the last 10 games against Elmira, outscoring them 35-16. The Soaring Eagles have not been able to defeat the Pioneers since 2012. In 2014, Utica defeated Elmira 8-0 behind three goals from the College's all-time leading scorer Hannah Mackey.
