Utica, NY -- The Utica College men's soccer team is set to host St. John Fisher College in Empire 8 Conference action on senior night Saturday at Charles A. Gaetano Stadium.  The contest is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m.

SENIORS PLAYING IN FINAL HOME GAME: Before the start of Saturday's game, the Pioneers will honor six seniors, who will be playing in their final home game at Utica College … This group has totaled 24 wins in their career to go along with two trips to the Empire 8 Conference tournament, including an appearance in the championship game in 2013.
 
#4 Joseph Hunter (Plymouth Meeting, PA/Plymouth-Whitemarsh): Hunter has tallied five points (one goal, three assists) in 48 career games played.  He netted his first career goal, the game-winner, in Utica's 4-2 victory over Baruch this season.  He is pursuing his degree in English.

#5 Matt Beljan (Bedminster, PA/Christopher Dock): Beljan is the active leader with 60 career games played.  He has totaled two goals and three assists over the last four years, while providing steady play in the midfield.  He will graduate with a degree in Criminal Justice.
 
#13 Marcel Dupuis (Hannacroix, NY/Greenville): Dupuis has totaled four goals and two assists in 38 career games played.  He ranks fourth on the team in scoring this season with five points (two goals, one assist).  He will graduate with a degree in Accounting. 
 
#15 Patrick Claffey (Burlington, CT/Lewis Mills): Claffey has netted two goals and added three assists in 57 games played in his career.  As a junior, he had a career-high two goals and two assists.  He will graduate with a degree in Economics.
 
#17 Owen Gillam (Bristol, CT/Bristol): Gillam has collected 13 points (six goals, one assist) in 39 career games.  This season, he leads the team with five goals, and is tied for first with 11 points.  He is currently pursuing his degree in Health Studies.
 
#99 Nick Hallett (Adams, NY/South Jefferson CSD): Hallett has appeared in 11 games in his career at UC.  As a junior, he started 10 games between the pipes and totaled a 2.11 goals against average and .722 save percentage.  He is currently pursuing his degree in Nursing.

LAST TIME OUT: The Pioneers lost 1-0 on the road against SUNY Canton on Wednesday evening … In the second half, Canton's Kyle Smith scored the first and only goal of the game … Utica created many opportunities to tie the score … Senior Marcel Dupuis (Hannacroix, NY/Greenville) had three shots on goal, and senior Matt Beljan (Bedminster, PA/Christopher Dock) and junior Dzenan Racic (Utica, NY/Proctor) each posted one shot on goal … But the Pioneer rally fell short … The Pioneers' record dropped to 2-11-1 overall. 

BLOCKING THE WAY: Matthew Milograno (Marcy, NY/Whitesboro) is ranked first in the Empire 8 Conference in saves per game (6.64), and he was also named the Empire 8 Conference Defensive Player of the Week on Monday after his impressive performance against Houghton College last weekend.
 
SCOUTING ST. JOHN FISHER: The Cardinals are 4-7-2 overall and 2-2-1 in the Empire 8 Conference … They managed a 1-0 win on the road last Saturday against a tough Elmira College team ….  Fisher freshman Matthew Kaiser scored the lone goal against Elmira. 
 
AGAINST THE CARDINALS:  The Pioneers are 2-3 against the Cardinals in the past five seasons …  Their last victory against Fisher came on Oct. 25, 2014 …  Shane Ruffing (Rochester, NY/Westborough) and Beljan each scored a goal to help Utica get past the Cardinals, 2-0 …  Although, the Pioneers lost 3-0 to St. John Fisher on the road last year (2015). 
 
LOOKING AHEAD: After the final home game Saturday, Utica will conclude the 2016 regular season with a road game against Nazareth on Oct. 29th (1 p.m.).
