UTICA, NY- The Utica College field hockey team will travel to Rochester, NY on Saturday to take on the Golden Flyers of Nazareth College. Game time is scheduled for 12 p.m.
 
LAST TIME OUT:  The Pioneers fell to nationally ranked No. 11 Skidmore College 5-0 at home on Thursday... Junior goalie Samantha Whitehouse (Greenwich, NY/Greenwich) had a career high 21 saves for UC… 21 saves in a single game ranks third all-time at Utica, just one shy of the second place mark… Skidmore outshot the Pioneers 29-5 on the day.   
 
LEADING THE WAY: Sophomore Rylee Meelan (Clinton, NY/Clinton) leads the team with nine points (four goals, one assist)… Senior Rachael Scaramuzzino (Utica, NY/Whitesboro) is second on the squad with eight points off of four goals…  Tiffany Evans (East Syracuse, NY/East Syracuse Minoa), Tori Couture (Auburn, ME/Edward Little ), Melissa Koch (Syracuse, NY/East Syracuse Minoa), and Joanna Gaertner (Schuylerville, NY/Schuylerville) are all tied for team lead in assists with two each.
 
IN THE NET: Thursday's game marked the seventh time this season that Samantha Whitehouse (Greenwich, NY/Greenwich) has tallied 10 or more saves in a single game… She ranks second in the conference with 10.67 saves per game and her 128 saves this season rank fourth on the College's single-season list.
 
SCOUTING NAZARETH: Nazareth is 1-11 overall and 0-5 in the conference… The Golden Flyers are led by freshman Jennifer Hilts, who has half of the team's goals (four) and points (10) this season... Sophomore Kimber Nourse leads the conference with 17 saves per game. 

AGAINST NAZARETH: The Pioneers are 12-3 against Nazareth in the last 15 years… Last year, Naz defeated the Pioneers 4-3 in a double-overtime thriller after UC scored two goals late in the second half... Rylee Meelan (Clinton, NY/Clinton) had two goals, while Jessica Belt (Webster, NY/Webster-Schroeder) and Rachael Scaramuzzino (Utica, NY/Whitesboro) each had one assist. 
 
LOOKING AHEAD: UC will travel to Houghton College next Saturday (Oct. 15) to face the Highlanders…. Game time is set for 1 p.m.
