UTICA, NY – The Utica College men's basketball team hosts its final regular season home game against Empire 8 Conference foe, Stevens Institute of Technology on Saturday. Tip-off is scheduled for 2 p.m.
 
Last Time Out: UC fell to visiting St. John Fisher, 77-52, in Empire 8 action on Tuesday … The team was led by junior Agim Hamiti (Prishtina, Kosovo/Syracuse Academy of Science) and sophomore Mike Cannizzo (Mechanicville, NY/Mechanicville), who each tallied 10 points on the night.  
 
Team Effort: Utica has five players averaging five or more points per game this season … Agim Hamiti (Prishtina, Kosovo/Syracuse Academy of Science) is second on the team averaging 11.5 points per game … He is also third on the team in steals (15), assists (28), and rebounds (77) … Sophomore Ivan Iton (Ossining, NY/Ossining) is third on the team with 10.5 points per game … Iton leads the team in rebounds (166), and is second on the squad in assists (34), and blocks (20) … Carl Taylor (East Brunswick, NJ/East Brunswick) is averaging 7.4 points per game while freshman Seamus McHugh (Latham, NY/Shaker) is averaging 5.8 points per game.
 
In Case You Missed It: Robert Tutein (Nanuet, NY/Nanuet) made ESPN's Top Ten when he hit a buzzer beater to top E8 opponent Elmira College 75-74 on Friday February 5 ...  Tutein scored nine of his 14 points in the second half to lead the Pioneers to their thrilling win over the Soaring Eagles.
 
CLASS OF 2016: Before the game, the Pioneers will honor their two seniors, Jawan Simmons (Syracuse, NY/Nottingham) and Robert Tutein (Nanuet, NY/Nanuet), who are playing in their final home game at UC… Simmons has totaled 115 points and 66 rebounds in 28 games over the last two years… Tutein has sored 785 points and added 170 rebounds in 84 career games played… He is currently tied for third place all-time with 1.1 blocks per game, and his 143 three-pointers rank fifth all-time.  
 
Scouting Stevens: The Ducks are 10-11 overall with a 6-6 Empire 8 record … Stevens is coming off of an 89-87 victory over conference opponent Ithaca on Tuesday … The Ducks are led by Patrick Barron (18.0 points per game, 73 rebounds, 45 assists, 14 steals, and one block) and Evan Klimchak (17.6 ppg, 65 rebounds, 81 assists, and 27 steals).
 
Against The Ducks: UC lost earlier this year on the road, 96-62, to Stevens … Last year the Ducks won both games by scores of 71-52 and 80-67 … The last time Utica beat Stevens was in the 2008-2009 season when it swept the Ducks 67-60 and 69-64.
 
Looking Ahead: The Pioneers hit the road for their final two regular season games as they face Ithaca College on Friday and Nazareth College on Saturday … Friday's game is scheduled for 6 p.m. while Saturday's game is scheduled for 2 p.m.
