UTICA, NY – The Utica College women's basketball team hits the road for two Empire 8 Conference matchups in its final two regular season games of the year this weekend. On Friday the Pioneers take on Ithaca College at 8 p.m. and on Saturday they travel to Nazareth College at 4 p.m.
 
Last Time Out: The Pioneers dropped a close one at home 69-61 to Empire 8 opponent Stevens on Saturday (2/13/16) … Mary Miceli (New Rochelle, NY/New Rochelle) led the team with 19 points while freshman Rachel Hunter (West Islip, NY/West Islip) was second on the team with 15 points.
 
All-time Record Book:  In four seasons Miceli has appeared in 96 games and has started in 87 … She currently ranks seventh on the College's all-time scoring list with 1,239 points … She needs just three points to move into sixth on the College's all-time scoring list, surpassing Mallory Davis … She also ranks second all-time at UC with 164 career 3-pointers.
 
Leading The Way: Miceli leads the team averaging 14.0 points per game while Ashelyne Babb (Lynn, MA/Winthrop) is second on the team with 11.7 points per game … Miceli is first in the conference in minutes per game (36.8), third in the conference in steals per game (1.9), fourth in the conference in 3-pointers per game (1.8), and eighth in the conference in points per game … Babb is second in the conference in steals per game with 2.7.
 
Helping Out: The Pioneers have six players with five or more points per game this season … Ashley Mayo (Nanuet, NY/Nanuet) is third on the team averaging 8.9 points per game while Alaina Tripp (Clyde, NY/Clyde-Savannah) is fourth on the team with 7.1 points per game … Calypso Carty (Pipersville, PA/Central Bucks West) is fifth on the team with 6.3 points per game while Rachel Hunter (West Islip, NY/West Islip) is sixth on the team averaging 6.2 points per game … Tripp leads the team with 132 rebounds while Carty is second on the team with 125 rebounds.
 
Scouting Ithaca: The Bombers are 13-10 overall with a 9-5 Empire 8 record … Ithaca has won its last two games against Houghton (73-49) and Alfred (92-37) … The Bombers are lead by Erin Ferguson (11.0 points per game, 144 rebounds, 29 blocks, 22 assists, and 21 steals) and Jordan Beers (10.7 points per game, 84 rebounds, 58 assists, 26 steals, and five blocks).
 
Against The Bombers: Utica lost earlier this season to Ithaca 67-55 … Last year UC lost to Ithaca 80-74 in a  double overtime game at home and 104-47 on the road.
 
Scouting Nazareth: The Golden Flyers are 17-6 overall with a 10-4 conference record … Nazareth is currently on a three game win streak with victories over Hartwick (82-81), Alfred (87-42), and Elmira (77-63) … The Golden Flyers are led by Lindsey Kelly (19.6 points per game, 244 rebounds, 34 assists, 32 steals, and 19 blocks) and Sam Sorge (16.0 points per game, 109 rebounds, 72 assists, 22 steals, and five blocks).
 
Against The Golden Flyers: Earlier this season UC fell to Nazareth at home 59-55 … UC is 6-5 against Nazareth over the last five years  … During that time Utica is 3-2 at home and on the road … Last year the Pioneers won 64-40 at home and lost 70-51 on the road.
