UTICA, NY – The Utica College baseball team travels to take on Stevens in an Empire 8 Conference doubleheader on Wednesday. The first game is scheduled to start at 12 p.m.
 
Last Time Out: Utica went 1-2 in three games against Houghton in an Empire 8 matchup on Friday and Saturday … On Friday Utica fell 12-1 in a nine inning game … On Saturday Utica won the first game of a doubleheader 5-0 before falling in the second game 5-4.
 
Hot Bats: Four players who have played in at least eight games have at least a .300 batting average … Vincent Burillo (Montgomery, NY/Valley Central ) has a .355 batting average … Burillo has 11 hits, two runs scored, one double, and one RBI … JT Ross (New York Mills, NY/New York Mills) has a .325 batting average … Ross has 13 hits, five runs scored, four doubles, and a team high five RBI's … Jake Ryan (Kingston, NY/Kingston) has a .323 batting average, 10 hits, five runs scored, one double, and one RBI while Matthew DeMartino (Oceanside, NY/Oceanside) has a .313 batting average, 10 hits, four runs scored, one double, and four RBI's.
 
Breakout Weekend: Freshman Tim Quinlan (Monroe, CT/Masuck) used his first three collegiate varsity games to make a statement … He played in all three games while starting in two of them … Quinlan went 4-for-8 (.500) with two doubles, one triple, two runs scored, and three RBI's … His three RBI's came in the teams 5-0 win … He also had no errors in the field.
 
On The Mound: Senior Joshua Webb (Verona, NY/VVS) leads the team with 19 strikeouts over 13.2 innings pitched … Webb has a 2.63 ERA, has started a team high three games, has one complete game, one shutout, and an opposing batting average of .196 … William Winsman (Palatine Bridge, NY/Canajoharie) leads the team with 14.0 innings pitched on three appearances and two starts … Winsman has a 5.14 ERA and is second on the team with nine strikeouts.
 
Against Stevens: Last year Utica was 2-1 against the Ducks on the road … Utica won the first game 4-2 while winning the second matchup 3-2 before falling 4-3 in the third game.
