KEUKA PARK, NY – The Utica College baseball team lost 8-7 in nine innings in the first game and tied 5-5 in nine innings in the second game that ended due to darkness against Keuka on Wednesday. Utica is now 8-19-1 overall with a 6-9 Empire 8 Conference record while the Wolfpack improves to 15-13-1 overall.
Keuka 8, Utica 7-Game One (nine innings)
Ethan Bliss (Cooperstown, NY /Cooperstown) got the start on the mound for the Pioneers and went 5.2 innings giving up five hits and seven runs (two earned) while walking five batters.
James Corcoran (Mechanicville, NY/Mechanicville) got the final out of the sixth inning allowing two hits and striking out one.
William Winsman (Palatine Bridge, NY/Canajoharie) pitched two innings allowing one hit and striking out one.
Alex Rocci (Utica, NY/Notre Dame) pitched .1 innings giving up three hits and the game-winning run. Utica's offense had 15 hits on the day and was led by
Bryce Patterson (Corning, NY/Corning East) who went 2-for-4 with two RBIs and one run scored.

Vincent Burillo (Montgomery, NY/Valley Central ), and
Kolbie Glionna (Hagaman, NY/Amsterdam) all had one RBI in the game.
Bryan Johnson got the start on the mound for the Wolfpack and went six innings giving up nine hits and four earned runs while striking out one. Thomas Fowler pitched 0.1 innings giving up three hits and three earned runs while walking one. Alex Thornton pitched the final 2.2 innings and allowing three hits while walking one and striking out four and earning the win.
Utica started the scoring off with a run in the second when Ryan hit singled scoring
Christian Tiffin (Sherrill, NY/VVS). UC didn't hold on the lead long giving up two runs in the bottom of the second inning. Keuka would add a run in the fifth before exploding for four runs in the sixth to take a 7-1 lead. Utica had a huge seventh inning putting up six runs and tying the game at 7-7. Keuka made up for blowing the six run lead with a walk-off run in the bottom of the ninth inning to take the game 8-7.
Utica 5, Keuka 5-Game Two (nine innings)
The Pioneers offense produced 20 hits but could only score five runs.
Zachary Schellenger (Schenectady, NY/Schenectady),
Vincent Burillo (Montgomery, NY/Valley Central ),
Kolbie Glionna (Hagaman, NY/Amsterdam), and
Adam Pexton (Whitesboro, NY/Whitesboro) all had three hits on the day while Schellenger led the team with two RBIs.
Josh Luczak (Ava, NY/RFA) started the game for Utica and pitched six innings giving up six hits and three earned runs while walking two and striking out one. Burillo pitched three innings giving up three hits and two earned runs while walking two and striking out one.
Kevin Franz started on the mound for Keuka and pitched four innings giving up 13 hits and four earned runs while walking one and striking out three. Josh Wang pitched five innings giving up seven hits and one earned run while striking out three. Brett Fenton led the offense with three RBIs on two hits.
Keuka started off the scoring when it took a 1-0 lead after the first inning. Utica would take its first lead of the night in the third inning when

Jake Ryan (Kingston, NY/Kingston) and Schellenger singled home Burillo to take a 2-1 lead. UC added a run in the fourth when Burillo doubled home Pexton to make it 3-1. Utica took a 4-1 lead in the top of the fifth when Schellenger hit a sacrifice fly to bring home
Brandon Thomas (West Winfield, NY/Mount Markham). The Wolfpack made it a 4-3 game in the home half of the fifth after scoring two runs. In the top of the seventh
JT Ross (New York Mills, NY/New York Mills) hit home Glionna to take a 5-3 lead. In the bottom of the seventh Keuka came back and tied the game at five. The game went until the ninth without either team able to take the lead as daylight expired.
