Utica, NY - The Utica College baseball team is set to host Hamilton College on Monday in the 29^th annual Jackie Robinson Game at the UC baseball field (4 p.m.).  Utica currently leads the overall series 16-12 in 28 previous Jackie Robinson games against Hamilton. 

Last Year's Jackie Robinson Game: The Pioneers won their 20th game of the season last year as it downed Hamilton College, 15-6, in the 28th Annual Jackie Robinson Game … UC was led by Brandon Thomas (West Winfield, NY/Mount Markham), who earned MVP honors for the Pioneers … Thomas went 3-for-5 on the day with three RBIs and two doubles.

Conference Tournament Bound: The Pioneers have earned the No. 4 seed in the Empire 8 Conference Tournament by way of winning the regular season series tiebreaker over SUNY Canton … Utica and Canton both finished the regular season with six conference victories, but the Pioneers took the regular season series, 2-1, over Canton to earn the fourth and final seed … It came down to the last day of conference play and Canton lost to Elmira to help lift the Pioneers into the tournament … This year marks the first time in the history of the Empire 8 that the conference tournament will feature the top four seeds … Last year was the first-ever Empire 8 Tournament (hosted by Utica College), but every team in the conference was accepted into the tournament … Utica will travel to top seeded and host St. John Fisher College on Thursday and will square off against the Cardinals at 11 a.m.

Rookie of the Year Candidate: Utica freshman Tim Quinlan (Monroe, CT/Masuck) currently leads the Empire 8 Conference with a .424 batting average this season … Quinlan has 36 hits including eight doubles, three triples, two home runs and 26 RBIs … He has eight hits in his last five games for the Pioneers.

Former Jackie Robinson Game MVP: Vincent Burillo (Montgomery, NY/Valley Central ) won the Jackie Robinson Game MVP as a freshman … He currently ranks second on the team with a .345 batting average … He has 39 hits, 17 RBIs and 14 runs scored this season. 

Ross Raking: Utica's JT Ross (New York Mills, NY/New York Mills) leads the team with 43 hits this season … He ranks third with a .339 batting average and he has six doubles.

Patterson Gets on Base: UC's Bryce Patterson (Corning, NY/Corning East) leads the team with a .452 on base percentage this season … He also has a team-high six stolen bases … His .333 batting average ranks fourth on the team.
