CANTON, NY- The Utica College women's soccer team fell on the final day of the North Country Classic as it dropped a 4-0 decision to host St. Lawrence University Saturday afternoon.
 
The Saints jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the first half as Hannah Merriam netted her second of the year, just 1:26 into the contest.  Kaleigh White registered an assist on the goal. St. Lawrence once against got off to a quick start in the second half, scoring just 43 seconds into the second frame.  SLU went on to add two more tallies to secure their second victory in as many days.  White and Emily Wade each finished with a goal and an assist on the afternoon. 
 
Junior Keri Berkowitz (Racine, WI/Racine Saint Catherine's) led the team with two shots on goal, while freshman Lauren MacDonald (Poughgoog, NY/Arlington) also recorded a shot.  Freshman Allison Wagner (Canandaigua, NY/Canandaigua Academy) recorded 14 saves in her first collegiate start. 
 
The Pioneers (0-2) look to rebound Wednesday as they return home to host SUNY Potsdam in their home opener.  Game time is scheduled for 7 p.m. at the Charles A. Gaetano Stadium.
