UTICA, NY- The Utica College women's hockey team returns from break Tuesday as it travels to SUNY Canton for a non-conference matchup against the Kangaroos.  Game time is scheduled for 4 p.m.
 
FIRST HALF WRAP UP: The Pioneers are currently 6-4 on the year and 3-2 in the ECAC West… Two of Utica's losses have come to teams currently ranked No. 6 or higher in the USCHO.com national poll…  UC is in the midst of a three-game winning streak with a sweep over Morrisville State and a 9-0 win over Lebanon Valley to wrap up the first semester.
 
LEADING THE WAY:  Senior Gabrielle Schnepp (Northville, MI/Belle Tire) and junior Meghan Power (Windsor, Ontario/Southwest Wildcats) are tied for the team lead with 10 points and eight assists each…  Schnepp has tallied at least one point in six of the last seven games played and she had two goals and an assist in the win over Lebanon Valley… Schnepp needs three more points to become just the fifth player in program history to record 100 points in her career… She has 97 points (38 goals, 59 assists) in 92 games played… Power has registered at least one point in five of her last seven outings, including a three-assist performance against Lebanon Valley… Both of her goals this season have come on the power play.
 
HELPING OUT: Senior Emily Coope (Phoenix, AZ/Colorado Tigers) is third on the team in points (nine) and she also leads the squad with five goals… Sophomores Kayla Dion (Colchester, VT/Boston Shamrocks ) and Elizabeth Dohner (Highlands Ranch, CO/Colorado Selects) round out the top-five with seven points each, followed by Jane Pagano (Erie, PA/Tabor Academy) and Olivia Hirschy (Fort Wayne, IN/Culver Academies), who each have six points.
 
IN THE CREASE: Senior Keira Goin (Dobbs Ferry, NY/Hotchkiss School) leads the team with a 1.34 goals against average and .942 save percentage in eight games played… Goin also has two shutouts on the season… Junior Amanda Lupo (Auburn, NY/Skaneateles) has seen action in three games while compiling a .877 save percentage.
 
SCOUTING CANTON: The Roos are 6-6 on the year and 2-2 in the Colonial Hockey Conference… Canton is coming off losses to Castleton State and Holy Cross last weekend… Sophomore Tess Adams leads the team with nine goals and 11 points… Junior Margret Troiano is right behind her with ten points (three goals, seven assists) on the year.
 
AGAINST THE ROOS: Utica is 6-0 all-time against Canton… Last year UC came away with a pair of wins, 4-1 and 6-3, in the opening weekend of play… Gabrielle Schnepp (Northville, MI/Belle Tire) had three goals and three assists on the weekend, while sophomore Lauren Patterson (Burlington, Ontario/Oakville) totaled one goal and three assists…  Kayla Dion (Colchester, VT/Boston Shamrocks ), Victoria Pelton (Sterling Heights, MI/Belle Tire), Emily Coope (Phoenix, AZ/Colorado Tigers), Taylor Osowski (Highlands Ranch, CO/Colorado Selects), Carlie Smith (Grimsby, Ontario/St. Catharine's Chaos), Veronique Lortie (Chambly, Quebec/Berkshire School), and Taylor Dion (Colchester, VT/Boston Shamrocks) also found their names on the score sheet. 
 
LOOKING AHEAD: The Pioneers will take on Oswego State this weekend in a home-and-home series… Friday's game will be at 7 p.m. in Oswego, with the teams wrapping up the weekend on Saturday in Utica… Game time is scheduled for 7 p.m.
