Game Recap: Field Hockey |

Field Hockey Falls at Geneseo

GENESEO, NY- The Utica College field hockey team fell to host SUNY Geneseo 4-2 in non-conference action Wednesday evening.

After falling down 2-0 in the first half, Utica cut the deficit in half as sophomore Ricki Haab (Stowe, VT/Stowe) netted her second of the year.  Geneseo regained control of the game with a pair of goals by Cara Stafford at 55:32 and 61:46 to take a commanding 4-1 lead.

Utica was able to find the back of the net again with just 1:08 remaining in regulation as freshman Sydney Scaccia (Whitesboro, NY/Whitesboro) put in a ball off a corner.  Scaccia took a feed from classmate Jenny Robbins (Hamburg, NY/Hamburg) off an insert from Melissa Koch (Syracuse, NY/East Syracuse Minoa) for her second of the year.

Senior Samantha Whitehouse (Greenwich, NY/Greenwich) made seven saves in the loss, while her counterpart, Mia Ludwig made four saves.

The Pioneers look to bounce back Saturday as they travel to Brockport.  Game time is scheduled for 12 p.m.
