Utica, NY - The Utica College women's soccer team hosted Hartwick on Wednesday, for an Empire 8 contest. The Pioneers lost, 1-0, making their record now 5-8-1 overall and 2-3 in conference play. 

After a scoreless first half, Hartwick's Rachel Weir notched the first goal of the game coming from a Kiley Richardson corner kick. UC created several chances throughout the game, putting six shots on goal, but was unable to tie the game up. 

Allison Wagner (Canandaigua, NY/Canandaigua Academy) made six saves in net for Utica in the loss. Cassandra Robataille played goalkeeper for the Hawks, making six saves and earning the shutout.

The Pioneers return to action on Saturday for Homecoming Weekend and Senior Day for the team. They will play host to E8 opponent Stevens, beginning at 5 p.m.
