Utica, NY – The Utica College men's soccer team dropped a 1-0 decision against visiting Elmira College on Saturday afternoon at Charles A. Gaetano Stadium.  Just over seven minutes into the second half of play Elmira's Donte Donegal netted what proved to be the game-winner off an assist from Yaniv Kogan to lift the Soaring Eagles to a one goal victory.

Utica's record moves to 6-8 overall and the Pioneers will return to action on the road Wednesday when they travel to local rival Hamilton College to take on the Continentals at 4:30 p.m. Elmira's record improved to 3-8-1 overall and 2-2 in conference play. 

The game-winner by Donegal came at 52:28 and it was off a perfect crossing pass in front of the net by Kogan. Utica's Jonathan Side (Plattsburgh, NY/Plattsburgh) made two stops in net for the Pioneers, while his counterpart Jacob Mattice stopped all three shots he faced in the shutout victory.

Utica earned a 4-2 corner kick advantage on the afternoon.   

UC now has five games left on its regular season schedule, including three key Empire 8 Conference contests.
