UTICA, NY- The Utica College women's hockey team looks to carry its momentum into an ECAC West Conference game at SUNY Potsdam Tuesday evening. Puck drop is scheduled for 7 p.m.
LAST TIME OUT: The Pioneers are coming off a weekend sweep at conference foe, Neumann University… Utica scored four unanswered goals on Friday to come away with a 4-1 win… The Pioneers came back from a 2-1 deficit on Saturday to win 5-2… Senior
Jane Pagano (Erie, PA/Tabor Academy) totaled three goals and one assist on the weekend, including a short-handed game-winner on Friday, as well as Saturday's game-winner… Junior
Carlie Smith (Grimsby, Ontario/St. Catharine's Chaos) also put in a four-point weekend with three goals and one assist of her own…
Danielle Haasbeek (Grand Forks, ND/Balmoral Hall),
Gabrielle Schnepp (Northville, MI/Belle Tire), and
Taylor Osowski (Highlands Ranch, CO/Colorado Selects) each had a goal and an assist on the weekend…
Elizabeth Dohner (Highlands Ranch, CO/Colorado Selects),
Emily Coope (Phoenix, AZ/Colorado Tigers), and
Jennifer Liu (North Saanich, British Columbia/Shaftesbury Titans ) had two assists apiece… Senior
Keira Goin (Dobbs Ferry, NY/Hotchkiss School) totaled 44 saves on the weekend to pick up a pair of victories.
HEATING UP: Utica has won is last four games and the Pioneers are 4-1-1 in their last six… UC needs just two more wins to reach the 15-win mark for the fourth time in the last five years.
CONFERENCE STANDINGS: With the two wins last weekend, the Pioneers have clinched a spot in the ECAC West Conference tournament for the 15
th time in their 16-year program history… UC is currently tied with Potsdam for fifth in the conference standings ... If the Pioneers win their three remaining games, they have a chance to host an ECAC West tournament quarterfinal game next Thursday.
MOVIN' ON UP: With two wins against Neumann, senior
Keira Goin (Dobbs Ferry, NY/Hotchkiss School), moved into sole possession of first place on the College's career wins list (36), passing Jill Doherty and Jennifer Hamel, who each totaled 35 wins in their careers… Goin also owns the career shutout record (12) and single-season shutout record (seven).
ANOTHA ONE: Senior
Gabrielle Schnepp (Northville, MI/Belle Tire) needs just one more point to move into a tie with 2016 graduate and All-American,
Morgan Reed (Fort Myers, FL/Cushing Academy) for fourth place on the College's career scoring list with 111 points… Schnepp currently has 41 goals and 69 assists in 104 career games played… She needs just one more assist to move into sole possession of third place on the career assist list… Schnepp ranks 12
th nationally with .82 assists per game this season.
PAGANO PAVING THE WAY: Senior
Jane Pagano (Erie, PA/Tabor Academy) leads the team with nine goals, and she ranks second on the squad with 18 points this season, marking the highest point-production of her career… She has tallied 12 points in her last nine games and she currently ranks tenth nationally in scoring amongst defensemen with .82 points per game.
BANNER YEAR: Apart from Pagano, five other players are in the midst of their best seasons… Senior
Emily Coope (Phoenix, AZ/Colorado Tigers) has a career-high 16 points this year… She needs one more goal to tie her career-best of eight, which she achieved last season… Sophomore
Elizabeth Dohner (Highlands Ranch, CO/Colorado Selects) is tied for third on the team with a career-best 16 points… She has tallied six goals and ten assists this season, both of which are personal bests… Classmate
Kayla Dion (Colchester, VT/Boston Shamrocks ) has a career-high four goals and nine assists for 13 points… Junior
Taylor Osowski (Highlands Ranch, CO/Colorado Selects) is second on the squad with eight goals this season, marking her best output as a Pioneer… Sophomore
Jennifer Liu (North Saanich, British Columbia/Shaftesbury Titans ) is also having her best season, as she has three goals, all of which were game-winners, and four assists.
SCOUTING POTSDAM: The Bears are 12-9-1 overall and 8-6-1 in the conference… They are coming off a split with William Smith last weekend, falling 2-0 on Saturday, and rebounding to knock off the Herons 4-3 in overtime on Sunday… Potsdam is led by senior Jordan Ott, who has 13 goals and 21 points on the season… Utica defeated Potsdam 6-1 at home earlier this year… Six different players scored for the Pioneers, including
