UTICA, NY- The Utica College men's lacrosse team returns home Tuesday for a matchup against Keuka College. The game was originally scheduled for Wednesday afternoon, but was moved to Tuesday due to inclement weather. The opening face off is scheduled for 7 p.m.

Dominic Castiglia (Liverpool, NY/Liverpool) finished the game with a team-high five points as he netted three goals and dished out two assists...
Brickman House (Oneida, WI/Pulaski) contributed with two goals and one assist...
Jake Bratek (Syracuse, NY/Jamesville-Dewitt) tallied one goal and one assist while
Nick Yelich (Lancaster, NY/Depew) added two assists of his own…
Ryan Desveaux (Bowmanville, ONT/St. Stephen Catholic) and
Tyler Nicolaus (Rome, NY/Rome Free Academy) each netted one goal for the Pioneers in the contest.
Staying Home: With the postponement of the game against SUNY Poly, Wednesday's matchup will mark the fourth home game in a row for the Pioneers who have started their season 1-2... Looking ahead, the team will remain at home for the next five games.
Castiglia's Hot Start: Sophomore
Dominic Castiglia (Liverpool, NY/Liverpool) has started his season off with a bang that has him among the top players in the Empire 8… He is currently leading the team with 13 total points on 10 goals and three assists… He ranks fifth in the conference averaging 3.33 goals per game and 4.33 points per game.
Strong Defense: Senior long sticks
Rusty Dessert (Islip, NY/Islip) and
Tyler Nicolaus (Rome, NY/Rome Free Academy) rank third and fourth in the conference, respectively in caused turnovers per game… Dessert is averaging 2.67 caused turnovers per game, while Nicolaus is averaging 2.33… The duo also leads the team with 22 combined ground balls.Â
Scouting Keuka: The Wolves are 2-1 overall and they are coming off an 18-7 loss to Brockport last Monday… Junior Andrew Burns and freshman Craig Gerhardt are tied for the team lead with 12 points apiece combining for 19 goals and five assists… Freshman goalie Ryan Mavretish has started all three games for Keuka and has compiled a .604 save percentage and 7.54 goals against average so far.
Against Keuka: Utica holds a 4-2 advantage in head-to-head play all-time… Three of the six games between the two teams have been decided by just one goal… Last year, the Wolves came away with a 9-8 victory as Keuka scored the game-winner with just five seconds remaining in regulation.Â
Looking Ahead: The team returns to action Saturday as it opens up Empire 8 Conference play against Ithaca College… Game time is scheduled for 3 p.m.
