New Paltz Tops Utica on Day Two of UC Invite

UTICA, NY – The Utica College men's soccer team lost to visiting SUNY New Paltz 4-0 on the final day of the Utica College Invitational at Charles A. Gaetano Stadium on Sunday.

Utica's record fell to 3-2 on the season and they return to play on the road Wednesday afternoon when they travel to Morrisville State to take on the Mustangs in non-conference action at 7:30 p.m. New Paltz won both of its contests at the invitational and improved to 3-2 on the season.

New Paltz netted two goals in each half to earn the convincing four goal victory. Luke Dole struck first for the Hawks in the 33rd minute to break open the scoring on the day. Kevin Doorley then found the back of the net just over two minutes later.

Dole netted his second of the afternoon in the 57th minute, before Luis Tinoco capped the scoring in the 71st minute.

UC goalie Jonathan Side (Plattsburgh, NY/Plattsburgh) stopped a career-high 13 shots in the loss for Utica. New Paltz earned a 30-3 shot advantage on the afternoon.
