Utica, NY – The Utica College women's tennis team faced off against Oswego State on Wednesday. The Pioneers lost, 5-4, as their record drops down to 0-3 early on in the season.
Julianne Pieros (Alpha, NJ/Phillipsburg) teamed up with
Lulu Zhang (Wenzhou, China/Newcomers) to win the second doubles match, 8-7. The two battled through to victory after winning the tiebreaker by a score of 7-4.
In singles competition UC won three of the six matches.

Lulu Zhang (Wenzhou, China/Newcomers) remained unbeaten so far this season as she won 6-0, 6-4.
Shannon Fillmore (Somerset, NJ/Franklin) earned the win in the fourth singles match 6-3, 7-5, taking down Bridget Bender from Oswego State.
The Pioneers return to their home tennis courts on Saturday for an Empire 8 matchup with Alfred University. The match is set to begin at 1 p.m.
