Potsdam, NY - The Utica College women's soccer team lost to SUNY Potsdam on the road Friday, 3-2. The loss drops UC's record down to 2-3-1 overall this season.

The Bears took the lead early with a goal from Lexi Dean, less than six minutes into the first half. In the 23rd minute of the contest, Potsdam was awarded a penalty kick. Amber Hyatt was successful on the penalty attempt and sent the Pioneers into halftime down 2-0. 

Abby Reilly (Brookfield, NY/Brookfield) put Utica on the board in the early goings of the second half, with the assist coming from Jenna Mazza (Frankfort, NY/Sauquoit Valley). Shortly after UC's score, Potsdam answered as Brooke Falsion scored to make the count 3-1 in favor of the Bears. In the final six minutes of play, Utica's Emily Mildner (Pine Bush, NY/Pine Bush) netted her first collegiate goal, coming from Carly Craft (Ellenville, NY/Ellenville)'s first collegiate assist.  

Goalkeeper Allison Wagner (Canandaigua, NY/Canandaigua Academy) finished the contest with seven saves, while Potsdam's Gabby Hobika made five saves in net. 

The Pioneers return to action on Saturday for another away game. The team will face-off against Clarkson University, starting at 2 p.m.
