Utica, NY - The Utica College women's tennis team hosted Nazareth on Sunday for an Empire 8 contest. The Pioneers lost, 8-1, making their record now 1-4 overall and 1-3 in conference play.

Christa Pham (Utica, NY/T.R. Proctor) won the lone point for UC, coming in the sixth singles match. Pham defeated Nazareth's Marissa Towes 7-5, 7-6 after earning the tiebreaker.

Lulu Zhang (Wenzhou, China/Newcomers)'s eight-match win streak in singles competition was snapped as she fell in the third singles flight.

Utica will be back in action on Wednesday, as the team travels to face SUNY Delhi. This non-conference competition is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m.
