Houghton, NY – The Utica College women's tennis team was on the road Saturday, as they faced Empire 8 opponent Houghton. UC lost, 8-1, dropping its record to 2-5 overall and 1-4 in E8 play.
 
The lone point scored for the Pioneers came during doubles competition. The pair of Lulu Zhang (Wenzhou, China/Newcomers) and Julianne Pieros (Alpha, NJ/Phillipsburg) won the second doubles match of the day. The flight went to a tiebreaker, where Zhang and Pieros pulled out the 7-2 decision to earn the match point.
 
The Pioneers return to action on September 27^th to host yet another conference matchup against St. John Fisher. The contest is set to begin at 4 p.m.
