HENNIKER, NH- The Utica College women's hockey team cruised to a 6-1 victory in non-conference action Sunday afternoon.

With the win, the Pioneers improve to 2-0 to start the season.  UC will return to action next weekend as it opens UCHC Conference play at Kings College. Game time is scheduled for 7:15 p.m. on Saturday and 2 p.m. on Sunday.

Freshman Georgiana Santullo (Woburn, MA/Boston Shamrocks/Woburn High School) opened the scoring at 14:27 of the first period as she netted her first official collegiate goal, assisted by Lexi Stanisewski (Lawrence, MA/Boston Shamrocks).  Junior Olivia Hirschy (Fort Wayne, IN/Culver Academies) extended the Utica lead at 17:35 as she put in her first of the year, assisted by Kyra Borsoi (Brossard, Quebec/Holderness) and Sirena Fitzery (Hamburg, NY/Buffalo Bisons).

The Pioneers added to their lead at 3:03 of the second when senior Elizabeth Dohner (Highlands Ranch, CO/Colorado Selects) netted her first of the year, assisted by  Stanisewski.  Utica took a four-goal lead at 12:23 as freshman Caley Susitti (Hartland, WI/Milwaukee Jr. Admirals) scored an unassisted shorthanded tally for her first collegiate goal.

NEC was finally able to get on the board at 18:35 of the second stanza when Erica Lissner (Woburn, MA/Woburn Memorial) put in a feed from Vicki Shaw and Cortney Reyes to break the shutout.

Utica regained the four-goal lead just 1:30 into the third period as Santullo netted her second of the game off assists by Stanisewski and Dohner. Just 54 seconds later, Utica added another tally, this time off the stick of Rebecca Brown (Steamboat Springs, CO/Norwich University).  Susitti assisted on Brown's third of the year.
