Clinton, NY – The Utica College women's soccer team was on the road Sunday, for a non-conference match against Hamilton College. The Pioneers drop to 5-5-2 overall after suffering a 1-0 loss to the Continentals.

Hamilton was able to take an early lead, with the lone goal of the contest being score just 6:45 into the first half. Cassie Hayward scored for the Continentals, with Alex Fontana earning credit for the assist.

UC goalkeeper Allison Wagner (Canandaigua, NY/Canandaigua Academy) was busy in net during the game, making 18 saves while facing 38 shots. Hamilton's goalie, Caity Smith finished with two saves in the shutout victory.

The Pioneers return home on Wednesday as they host Morrisville State College for the team's Faculty/Staff Appreciation Game. The match is scheduled to start at 7 p.m.
