Schenectady, NY – The Utica College women's basketball team lost to host Union College 71-59 in non conference action on Saturday. Union outscored the Pioneers 37-21 in a stretch 20 minutes midway through the contest to pull away for the win.
UC freshman
Sydney Przygoda (Freehold, NJ/Freehold), the reigning Empire 8 Player of the Week, led the way with her sixth double-double of the season. She netted 18 points and also added 11 rebounds. Utica's record fell to 5-4 on the season while Union improved to 6-2 overall.
UC's
Nicolette Conkin (Los Altos, CA/Homestead) added 11 points, seven rebounds and seven assists for the Pioneers, while Bridgid Johndrow chipped in with eight points and three rebounds.
Jeslyn Files (Weedsport, NY/Weedsport) came off the bench and posted five points in just three minutes of action. Cortlyn Jepsen added eight rebounds for the Pioneers.
Union was led by a game-high 27 points from Nicole Conley, while Elly Vaughn chipped in with 12 points for the Dutchmen.
